World Teachers' Day 2020

Batteries Europe Platform

This year, UNESCO celebrates World Teachers' Day under the slogan "Teachers: Leading in crisis, reimagining the future!". Identifying and evaluating issues regarding the educational environments, in the context of the pandemic and the huge efforts that teachers are making to mitigate the negative effects of this crisis, are not only timely but also essential to support vulnerable environments, to find ways to open the schools safely and to ensure that learning gaps have been alleviated. The discussions addressed this year by UNESCO, according to the site en.unesco.org, aim to highlight the role of teachers in strengthening resilience and shaping the future of education and the teaching profession.
Held annually on 5 October since 1994, World Teachers’ Day commemorates the anniversary of the adoption of the 1966 ILO/UNESCO Recommendation concerning the Status of Teachers.
