DESiG – DEVELOPMENT ENVIRONMENT AND SYLLABUS FOR EDUCATIONAL GAMES IMPLEMENTATION
The DESiG project proposes an innovative approach that integrates technical and pedagogical concepts associated with educational games and aims to facilitate communication with external applications (eg LMS). Research supports the augmentation of functional models for developmental backgrounds of educational games implemented in both desktop and mobile environments. This initiative implements a component-based development that takes into account certified standards such as Web Services, SCORM, Experience API which facilitates the development of customized educational games for key market sectors targeted by the consortium: business and public administration.
The DESiG consortium consists of four partners, namely two innovative companies (ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY SYSTEMS - a leading developer and integrator of advanced software systems based on state-of-the-art technologies and SOFTWIN - the leading provider of educational applications at national and international level), a prestigious university (Carol I National Defense University - promoter and implementator of innovative learning methods) and the National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics - ICI Bucharest, with over 40 years of experience in ICT and the most important research and development institute in information and communication technology in Romania. The project is supported by the Serious Games Institute - Prof. Dr. Sara de Freitas and the Universidad Complutense de Madrid - Prof. Dr. Baltasar Fernández Manjón.
